Hi! My name is Caitlan and I live in rural Southwestern Ontario in a small town on the shores of Lake Huron. I’m 29 years old, a wife to my best friend and a new mom to our squishy cheeked, serious staring baby boy. Our first baby will always be our dog Harrison (named after my husband’s favourite football player- not Harrison Ford as some may think)!
I believe that chocolate is a food group, a juicy romance novel and a nice glass of red can solve most problems, cooking is one of the best stress relievers and shopping is a less expensive form of therapy (maybe).
I get far too emotionally involved in reality tv and pretty much all of Shonda’s shows. I am also a Netflix binge watcher and have been up into the wee hours of the morning with my hubby finishing a season of a new favourite show.
I am definitely a planner, over thinker and am always prepared for the “what if”- which is probably the reason I carry such a large purse!
I love to decorate, organize, craft and DIY. I also love to shop (okay, I have a slight online shopping obsession), plan shopping trips, and share my experiences. Living in a rural area has lots of wonderful advantages but can also pose a few challenges for the avid shopper and DIYer. This is what has inspired me to start this blog so I can share my experiences, tips and lessons that I’ve learned along the way.
I will share my seasonal favourites, organization tips, DIY projects and ideas, home decor ideas, and my experiences as a new mom. I’ll also highlight some local and Canadian companies and products that I love along the way because who doesn’t love that!
I hope to give you some inspiration for your own projects and lifestyle as well as give you a glimpse into my small town rural style. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
