I am definitely a girl who has her “go-to” favourite scent. I have fragrances that I have stood by and worn for years, some that I wear for certain times, events and occasions. I also love to try new fragrances and expand my collection. The bottles are usually so pretty and look adorable on a shelf that they are kind of collectors items too!
With Valentines Day coming up, I wanted to share some of my favourite fragrances and one of “his” favourites too! These are beautiful gifts for a loved one, a friend or even for yourself! Galentines Day is all the rage this year so embrace it!
Lise Watier: Vent du Sud
Vent du Sud Eau de Toilette by Lise Watier is one of the fragrances that I have been using the longest. I just really love the smell of it and find its a great multi purpose scent. It has a sweet floral/fruity scent with a faint musk. It’s a very feminine, fresh and elegant-perfect for every day wear. The bottle is even a really classic clean simple look which is a testament to the fragrance.
Notes: bergamot, passion flower, jasmine, amber, vanilla and musk.
Vera Wang: Princess
Princess Eau de Toilette by Vera Wang is a fragrance that I really love. I chose it as a new scent to wear on my wedding day. I originally had loved the smell of Chanel CoCo Mademoiselle, but didn’t like how it smelled on me when I tested it out. After testing many others, I fell in love with Princess. It is a rich/sexy scent but is also ends soft and sweet which is why I loved it for my wedding. The fragrance wears really nicely and lasts a long time on. I wear it often (more for evenings/going out or special occasions) and think of my wedding day every time I put it on! The bottle is also adorable with its heart shape and little crown on top!
Notes: waterlily, apple, mandarin, Tahitian flower, chocolate, amber, musk, and vanilla.
Marc Jacobs: Daisy
Daisy Eau de Toilette by Marc Jacobs is my latest addition, but is a long time classic and a favourite of many women. I find the scent a bit more of a sweet musky one with a really pretty, fresh feminine tone. It is a bit more of an intense fragrance. This perfume is definitely a long-lasting wear. It is my current favourite and I wear it frequently! The bottle is also simple and chic with the little daisies on top. There is a new edition of Daisy which has recently come out called “Twinkle” and apparently it is a bit lighter than this original fragrance. I may need to pick up that one next!
Notes: strawberry, gardenia, jasmine and cedar wood.
Victorias Secret: Noir Tease
Noir Tease Eau de Parfum by Victorias Secret was an impulse buy at the border Duty Free on the way home from a trip a few years back. It wasn’t overly expensive and it a really nice sexy flirty scent. The vanilla really stands out in this fragrance. I also love how it has one of the atomizer “puffs” on the bottle for spritzing (with a touch of black lace) which makes the bottle really beautiful and gives it that vintage inspired look.
Notes: vanilla, pear and gardenia
Calvin Klein: ck one
ck one eau de toilette by Calvin Klein was one of the first fragrances that I ever purchased. It is a unisex fragrance (even though I personally like it more for women), and it is really soft, fresh and clean scent. I like to wear it more casually and think of it like a fresh “active/athletic” scent that is a bit more subtle. I also just got a sample from Sephora of the ck2 and it also really nice. I find ck2 a bit stronger and more sweet-smelling than ck one. But it is definitely another nice fragrance especially for the lovers of ck one.
Notes: bergamot, pineapple, jasmine, musk, amber
For Him: Ralph Lauren: Polo Red
My hubby picked out Polo Red Intense by Ralph Lauren as a new scent for him on our wedding day and it has since been his go-to fragrance. I absolutely love the smell of it on him and can’t help keep my hands off of him when he is wearing it! It has a really beautiful soft and spicy musk with a hint of sweetness. He loves the fragrance as well and likes the way it goes with his sandalwood aftershave. Polo Red is a beautiful masculine fragrance and is definitely long-lasting. Plus it is SO irresistable!
Notes: saffron, grapefruit, redwood and coffee
Lastly, as a bonus- I recently got a sample of Light Blue eau intense by Dolce & Gabbana, and I know it is my next fragrance purchase hands down. I am trying to make my sample last as long as possible, but the bottle is getting pretty low! It smells so fresh and citrusy with a hint of floral. It’s a beautiful crisp fragrance that makes you think of sitting on a beach on a hot day with your toes squished in the sand and a cold drink in hand… and on that note, I have now convinced myself to go purchase this bottle and channel warmer weather on this cold February afternoon. Happy early Galentines day to me!
